I have to say first off these books are not for kids or anyone easily offended by a little sexual content. That being said I'm intrigued with the characters and the story line. Having only read this and first book I'm not sure which way it's heading in the third. Is what the crew released science or magic? A little of both? What exactly is our main character? Human or construct? What will happen to the crew of the Uma? I can't wait to find out. I can't tell anyone what to read or what not to read. Some people wright reviews and nit pick grammar, spelling, even plot. I've bought ebooks that I have in hard copy and somehow there's differences between the two. So will you like this? I don't know. All I can tell you is I enjoyed it and will continue to read the series until the end and enjoy every sentence.Product details

Really enjoyed this book has a lot of potential could go so many ways with it can't wait for the next one
This type of hard sf is like bread and butter to me, can't live without it and do not want to!!!!
This is one series of books that the second book is better than the first one. I just love the characters. The story line has you on the edge of your seat and you don't want to take a break.
I like most of this author's work but not sure about this storyline and or the characters. This book feels incomplete. I know the author is setting up for the next book in this series but still feels incomplete.
I liked both Dark Universe book one and book two, Mr. Halsteads characters are well rounded, also the introduction of magic or rather abilities is an interesting combination. I look forward to more books in the series.
Superficial alien sex doesn't work for me - why would the pheromones be compatible? Then free love turns to possessiveness. But the rest of the plot moves along and they finally beat the bad guy to the big prize. Interesting combination of sci fi and magic.
Alright Jason book number 2. Let’s see how we did Basically, a continuation of Into the Dark. It’s a continuing story, not a standalone book. Jason still nailed all the important factors for me in a book, which is in my original review of Into the Dark.
What can I say, I don’t need realistic portrayals in my books. If that’s what I desire, all I need to do is walk out my front door every day. This is SPACE ACTION FANTASY ADVENTURE!
